The ambiance is quite good. I give 4/5 The service gets 3/5 The waiter for the day was not up-to-date with what the restaurant is offering. He called a chocolate cookie, coffee cookie and defined one of the meals as "just like any other beef". Another waiter promised to call us when one of the booth was available but she forgot and when we checked there were 3 available. There is a provision for double parking but there is no visible system to identify car owners if the person leaving is blocked. It was raining when we left and no one bothered to offer to escort us with an umbrella to the car. The food also gets 3/5 I had chilli fried mbuzi which had been overfried hence crispy and chewey. It wasn't as spicy or as hot as expected either. My wife was happy with the meatballs with mushroom sauce. The mint pineapple was also good but the buffalo wings had way too much vinegar. The dessert sampler was ok. Yes I would go back to sample more of their menu. Getting the eat out discount was hassle free.
Had dinner at Ankole yesterday with a friend. My first choice was the BBQ Pork Spare ribs (which were out of stock), bummer! I opted for the pepper beef steak with fries and requested for the steak to be very well done. My meal came and it was medium rare, meaning it had to be sent back to the kitchen. My meal was average, the customer service was exceptional and the ambiance is really cool and chilled! Their price ranges from about 1200 to 2500 per person (depending on what you order). I would go back, to try something different on the menu and hopefully have a WOW! moment.
Food is wonderful!!! Best burgers in Nairobi. I also had the Pemba Sushi, Crispy golden fish sticks and the most amazing veggie spring rolls i have ever tasted. Cocktails are made to perfection and they have a great wine list. I would recommend Ankole Grill any day... Ill definitely be back...
