Shocking Service April 3, 2012 Reviewer: John Winchester from Nairobi, NBO Kenya   We have been regulars at la dolce vita for many years. Today, after sending back a prawn cocktail (which tasted so bad it caused us to gag) we had the manager come over and be incredibly rude, telling us that the prawns were fresh and nothing was wrong with them. We live at the coast and know exactly what fresh prawns or for that matter edible prawns taste like. He then made us pay for it. Never in thirty years of dining in restaurants all over the world have I come across a manager as rude as him. He was lucky not to get smacked. shame. Was this review helpful to you?

Great Food! August 7, 2010 Reviewer: S. Matharu from Nairobi, Nairobi Kenya   Picked it because of the location, but was well impressed with the food! Ambiance is great for romantics but was there for dinner with a friend and it was equally nice. Nice place but the waiters need to increase knowledge about whats on the menu. Good selection of wine! Great food and great ambiance February 26, 2010 Reviewer: MuchNo from Nairobi, Kenya   The selection of wines was great and the Chianti we chose was so good we ended up drinking two bottles. The starters were exquisite and it didn't take forever for them to arrive after the wine was served, a plus that many restaurants often get wrong. The portions were very generous and the attentive waiters asked to top-up our wine glasses (rather than assume we wanted them topped up) while managing not to interrupt our conversation. Each of the main courses afforded a unique taste - a good sign that the cooking was unhurried. While filling, the food was light enough not to give that stuffed feeling after the meal was done. Desert and coffee rounded up a fantastic meal that we look forward to enjoying again soon. Was this review helpful to you?
