Disappointing Experience |

A couple of us went to Furusato after Christmas - we eat there regularly because of the good food and ambience. After starters, we ordered chicken, fried noodles with vegetables and rice for mains. Shockingly, the vegetarian amongst us discovered chicken pieces in the noodle dish. On pointing this to the head waiter, we were asked if we had perhaps mixed chicken from the chicken dish into the veg and we had to re-iterate that we had not since one of us was veg. She told us “the chef picked noodles from a place where there was chicken”. It gets worse. They couldn’t explain why a dish was vegetarian if the chef decides what to put in. We were then referred to the Manager who was apologetic for the mistake and on telling him we would not finish our meal nor pay had to wait for feedback. In the end we had to pay for everything except mains. The chef never came to see us because he was “busy”. I think they could have dealt with the situation better. Disappointing customer service!

The Sushi is amazing, and the portions are quite filling...Unlike most restaurants! The staff are very welcoming and kind!
Only problem is the pricing....

This is absolutely the best Japanese Restaurant in Kenya. The service is great and so is the atmosphere. I tried the double crunch roll and chicken teriyaki the other day, and there was only one word to describe it. C'est Manific! I would recommend this place to the sushi lovers and others who have not tried Japanese food. Dont be afraid and try a new experience with Furusato.

We had the Tepanyaki set which had a delicious selection of foods. The restuarant was very nice and the staff friendly.
